10 High-PR, High-Traffic FREE article submission sites

Article submission is a great way to increase traffic to your site as well as to improve page rank due to the built up backlinks. There are hundreds of article submission sites and directories around and hence one would naturally wonder which one to go for. In this post, I am picking ten such sites based on the criteria on page and traffic ranks.
Though article submission is a very generic marketing strategy, something that you should know is how your submitted article is used by these sites. One time article submission with a single instance linking back to your website is the cleanest and safest approach. The next level is where the article submission site use the same article to be submitted to multiple sites, content unchanged.
This is something that not many prefers and if done so, it can attract penalty from search engines such as Google in terms of page rank downgrades. Then there is article spinning that reshuffles or rewrites the same article and posts at multiple sites. This can affect your reputation though it might increase traffic ranks and/or page ranks (if gone undetected, that is). Now let us take a look at my picks:
The Ten Sites
Here, I have picked five article sites each in two categories – Submission without sign up or registration and the sites where a registration is required before you can submit. In either case, the submission services are free and these sites have a minimum Google Page Rank of 3 and an Alexa traffic rank below 100,000

Which one to go for?
Where to submit your articles really depends on your need. If you are looking at building healthy backlinks and reputation you should go for those high PR article submission sites. Again, you need to remember that the articles submitted does not necessarily get listed on the front page (with the PR mentioned above). So another important thing is to understand how the rating of your articles happen and how can it get on to the top list. A listing on the front page of those sites will also get you more traffic.
If you are looking at traffic alone probably you should go for article spinning or multiple submission options. Again, read the FAQs on those sites carefully on how things work in each case.
Of late, Google downgraded the PR of many article submission and spinnig sites. So it is always advisable to go for reputed article sites with very high traffic and more or less consistent page rank over the years. My personal pick would be http://www.ezinearticles.com/ which has the possibility of a number of articles appearing on their front page. They also market authors very well by providing their profiles on the home page.
Other Tips
- Some of the above sites also offer premium or paid services that can get you more visibility. You may consider them if you have some money to spend
- Pick the right categories and subjects and post your article under them. You should be ideally posting an article along the lines of your own site’s main theme or subject matter
- Try to create trackbacks and counter traffic from your own site to those submitted articles to engage your current readers even better with the topic
- Keep track of your backlinks and analyze traffic originated from the article submission exercise to pick the right submission site for your needs
- Once the submission is approved, you must keep track of the comments received and reply them promptly just like you would do at your own sites. This would give better traffic prospects and ratings
- Reserve your best articles for your own site or blog as articles submitted elsewhere are only short term triggers for your long term plans
- Guest blogging on reputed sites with high page rank and reader base is still the best way to get traffic, visibility and recognition!

I always had success with Ezine (traffic and link) thus it is my personal favorite. Article dashboard is good too, but I have seen many of its articles leached off by other blogs without credit.

For the past 2 hours I have looking for the best articles sites (10) to submit articles to and I was struggling. I have a list of about 233 articles sites and had a hard choosing the ones with the best reach. I just downloaded the Alexa tool and as I was going about it I came across your blog, this post. What a relief. Some of them I had already subscribed to like Ezine Articles. The other thing I had trouble (still) understanding the Alexa rank.
Briefly let me tell you what I was doing, maybe you’ll appreciate how thankful I am, I have a spreadsheet here before me with a list 233 article sites. I would type in the URL and get the Alexa traffic, first I tried Compare Sites Tab- then realized it”l take me long- that when I decided to write down traffic ranks. My confusion came here some sites had 103091, 22901, 456014, etc and when i came to ezinearticles.com it was 258 Yet i knew ezine articles was the best out there…anyway to cut the long story short. This is a releif and I will start with your list.
Another thing I have just started blogging and I was reading (among others) Yaro Starak ebooks Blog Profits Blueprint and Roadmap to Becaome a Blogger and again I see him listed as one of your favorite Pro Bloggers.
While on the blogging subject I’m also reading Social Media Daily by Michelle MacPhearson, Twitter Marketing by Walter M Prorok Jr, a blogging software from TrafficTacticsGold.com, Encyclopedia of Free Online Advertising by Luke W Parker, etc.I am mentioning this hoping it will help some of your readers. At the momemt the info is a bit overwhelming for me but I am getting there…I still don’t know to do a lot of things

As for the PRs and the Alexa Ranks of the 10 directories that I mentioned, it is bound to change and I do not update the post any more… But most of them remain as hot favorite submission sites.
Yes, Darren can teach you a lot about blogging. There are a lot of good upcoming and established bloggers as well like Daniel of DailyBlogTips.com, Syed of Balkhis.com etc who could provide you a lot of blogging tips. Looks like you already have a lot of other references as well…
Only one tip I can give you is to focus on blogging first and then make money rather than the other way around. A lot of make money online blogs are winding up of late due to the difference in approach!

Great article. The listing of the actual sites is extremely helpful. The hardest part though seems to be finding a high PR site with high PR internal pages. I notice for example that the PR of most individual articles at ezine have a PR of n/a. Am I missing something there? Maybe they are just newer articles that haven’t been indexed yet.
Since moving from phpnuke/bbtonuke/phpBB to Joomla (Main)/vBulletin (Forum)/Wordpress (Blog) I’ve actually traded established traffic for Aesthetic, Functionality, Usability, etc. Of course I did sacrifice a fair amount of content in the process as it wasn’t really as original as I’d like (links to original, offsite, articles.
Now that I’m in rebuild mode with a fresh updated look, I’m looking for any advice I can get on upping my targeted traffic goals.
I’ve wondered about submitting to sites such as you listed above but was always on the fence until now. Your article has given me the push I need to at least give it a go so thanks for posting it.

Well, Article submission is a very effective SEO strategy but it could be more effective if content is unique and we submit it manually over few well renowned sites as you mentioned above.

Recently I submitted my articles to EzineArticles and I found it quite interesting to get more exposure from there, it does help in search engine ranking due to strong one-way backlinks too. I’ll be keep doing this for my blog. I may want to try some other article submission sites too, thanks again for sharing!
