I am not John Chow, still…

Of late, I have been receiving a few queries from some of my readers on how and when to start monetizing their blogs or how to optimize the earnings etc. I had touched upon this topic in the recent past but then I had not specifically mentioned which all money making options were used by this blog.

Dollar$hower is not really an old blog, nor am I the perfect authority to talk all about online moneymaking. However, I managed to generate three-figure income out of this blog for a couple of months already. So today I thought of writing a post on making money online with or without a blog but on second thoughts I converted it into a page (See above: Make Money) so that everyone can access it easily. Also, I would want to keep it updated as and when my monetization strategy or blog status changes.

Backlinks.com - Make money out of your blogroll and site links

Backlinks.comThere are a number of text link ads services that pay you for the text links displayed on your blog or website. Blogrolled.com is one such text link ad service where as TextLinkAds (TLA) is a premium service in that category.

The problem, though, is that most of these link ad services go after high-profile and high-traffic blogs only. This is because of the fact that the text links are actually advertisements (PPC or flat rate) and hence more the reach, the better. However, Backlinks.com is a text link ad service that focuses more on the link building and page rank improvement aspect than advertisement. And it is a good starting point to make money out of your blog links.

ViralBlogAds Blog Ad Network pre-launch offer

ViralBlogAds is launching their blog ad network! Right now, the pre-launch ViralBlogAds
campaign
is going on with a contest that offers $1,650/- worth prizes from various sponsors. The ad program is open for subscription and bloggers can actually sign up now as publishers and take part in the pre-launch contest while availing the publisher options.

Too many blog ad networks?

Of late, there has been a flurry of ad networks that were specially designed to target blogs. Some of them are link or blogroll networks such as Blogrolledwhere as some others are flat rate banner networks (e.g. PerformancingAds). Most banner networks supported only the blog friendly 125×125 image ads and many of them stood for the cause of increased traffic and hence supported traffic exchange programs as well.
