Backlinks.com – Make money out of your blogroll and site links
Ajith | Sep 2008 | New Money Makers
There are a number of text link ads services that pay you for the text links displayed on your blog or website. Blogrolled.com is one such text link ad service where as TextLinkAds (TLA) is a premium service in that category.
The problem, though, is that most of these link ad services go after high-profile and high-traffic blogs only. This is because of the fact that the text links are actually advertisements (PPC or flat rate) and hence more the reach, the better. However, Backlinks.com is a text link ad service that focuses more on the link building and page rank improvement aspect than advertisement. And it is a good starting point to make money out of your blog links.
How does it work?
Backlinks.com works as follows for a blogger or publisher:
- Those who sign up as publishers can display text links on their blog or website and each link will be paid a fixed flat-rate per month
- The price per link is fixed based on the page rank of your blog pages. Only pages that have a PR of more than 0 is accepted
- Publishers can display any number of links, anywhere on any number of pages
- The link appearance can be fully customized to suite the theme of your blog or site
- The payment is done on 1st of every month via PayPal
- Publishers get paid $0.50 to $75 per link based on page ranks (See the payment chart below)
PageRank (PR) 1: homepage $.50 , subpage $.50
PageRank (PR) 2: homepage $1 , subpage $1
PageRank (PR) 3: homepage $2 , subpage $1.50
PageRank (PR) 4: homepage $3 , subpage $2
PageRank (PR) 5: homepage $4.50 , subpage $3.50
PageRank (PR) 6: homepage $12.50 , subpage $10
PageRank (PR) 7: homepage $30 , subpage $25
PageRank (PR) 8: homepage $75 , subpage $50
Backlinks.com offers great deals for advertisers as well. If you want to improve the page rank and link popularity of your blog or website you can purchase a few links from high-PR blogs. The rates are very competitive.
Advantages of the Backlinks.com model
Backlinks.com uses a simple PHP script that generates actual ad links and not redirection URLs. Because of this there is no possibility of any PR penalty from search engines. Since it is a flat rate model, there is no confusion on how much you will get paid as publishers. Also, you have the possibility of making money out of virtually any page on your website based on its page rank.
Backlinks.com offers a great referral program as well. They pay $25 for each publisher that you referred and sold at least one text link ad.
If the above description sounds good, you may sign up with Backlinks.com now! and start making money!

Hi! very nice information!
Oh, yeah, Very nice…
But would you please explain, that how much visitors will be needed per month to earn a nice money?
I mean at least $10, per link which publisher will be putting on his or her blog?
if it seems a big amount, lets talk about the $5.
waiting for your reply,

@Akhil, If you are talking about backlinks.com, unless you have a PR3 or above blog, it is not going to be of any good. So keep building backlinks (and hence search rank), readership and the money will come automatically.
There’s no hard and fast rules on when will money start pouring. If you build good content, even with 50 readers (and Google AdSense + some banners) you should be able to make $200 a month.
First and foremost thing is that you need to have good content and an organized theme for your blog
I will send you mail on the number of things you need to do.
Hi Ajith,
This type of advertising is SO confusing to me. I know it works, but never have taken the time to figure it out.
Barbara Swafford’s last blog post…In The Blog House
Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.
Hi Ajith,
Advertising is so confusing to me. So, you are saying if you have a page rank of at least three backlinks are worth adding to your site? Do you have any control over the links that are added? Are they usually pertinent to the blog’s subject matter? Can you refuse a link it you find it objectionable?
This seems like something that I would like to try but I have a lot of questions about how it works.
Thanks,
Kim

@Barbara, well, I would think that it’s more backlink building (hence an attempt to improve search ranking) type of advertising
@James, thanks for the info. Nope, I never requested a listing in that directory…
@Kim, thanks for your queries. Once you get a reasonable page rank, adding ad links (may not be backlinks.com) is one of the easiest ways to monetize on top of banner sales, non-intrusive ads like AdSense etc. Well, in the case of backlinks.com, there’s not much control over ‘individual links’ that may appear but definitely there’s a possibility of selecting broadlevel categories. For example, if you want to show only ‘Technology’ related links or avoid ‘Adult’ links you could do that. I guess, I should have mentioned in the post
Btw, you have a nice blog and I see that it’s PR3 but not monetized yet…
Ajith,
Thank you for the detailed response. So, since it is PR3 do you think I should try to monetize it? I’m working toward earning money via services rather than through advertising but if advertising would be useful I’m willing to try.
I’ve just started reading your articles so I’m sure they contain more information but can you offer any practical advice on what types of ads to start with? I know nothing about this subject.
Thanks again!
Kim

Kim,
I will send you a mail on the ad part. I can only talk about what’s working for me and probably should work for you as well.
Cheers,
Ajith
Oh well, since my blog is a baby, I definitely have a way to go before I can benefit from this program. However, it’s something to bear in mind for the future, so thanks for the detailed write-up you’ve done on it.

this is a good info for some newbie to gain money online
Ajith,
Thanks for the write up and the info. Shall check it out. Are you sure there will be no penalty from Google with them being so much against link selling and link exchanges especially with a view to improve PR ranking. I will look to make sure there will be no penalizing from Google before going ahead with them. Would not want to upset the big G!!!
@Rajiv, I assume so because Google is after the big ones such as Text Link Ads. These paid links are to be considered from a case to case basis by Google and not an automated discovery (if a new brand comes up). Backlinks.com has been there for a while and hence you never know.
In the mean time, I am yet to get a link bought on this blog by backlinks.com – will keep you updated (I had written to them and they confirmed that they have enouigh buyers). There are a number of ad link networks that operate in a similar way (and some owned by the same group, I guess). Will do more research on this…
Update: Looks like LinkAdage is owned by the same company as well… If you go through LinkAdage, chances are, you end up selling your links a lot faster – Ajith
Text link ads are a good way to generate a passive income online. You need to invest some time and money initially.
dee’s last blog post…How I earn more than $1000 monthly online
I wonder if backlink.com automaticaly sell the links on all of our pages by just install the code to the template like tnx.net. Or we have to install the code manually to every page.? That’s exhausting,..
@Phoenix, I know it can be really exhausting… Did you check out InLinks from Text-Link-Ads? They have better control over even for the links from individual posts.
Ajith,
Do you get any income from your blogs using this service if so how much monthly?
To be frank I can’t get any income from this service as of now
@Page rank, You can’t make HUGE money out of Backlinks, LinkReferral or now LinkXL (all from the same company). The returns will be based on your PR. If you have at least PR2 you ma y give it a try….
I made some money from LinkReferral (must same as Backlinks) but discontinued after two months.
i just try backlinks, just don’t know how to get links
christon’s last blog post… My child, don’t fear
@christon, once you put the script there, when somebody purchases a link on your site it will appear there. You need to have a blog/site with a decent page rank to get some success.
