Apple does make good products, but good products never sell by themselves. Apple in fact sells because of the hype and the millions of Apple fanboys. Still after using their products I do have to admit they make great products.

Sustainability is very hard and few companies like Apple, IBM, Microsoft, GE have managed to do it for a very long time. I would like to add "Advertisement - Creating the Hype" to the list. Apple has created the hype - Every young adult need to have an iPod. Without an iPod you are not considered cool.
