ONE word blog description - follow up!

One word blog description - follow upEarlier this week I had requested my blogger readers to come up with catchy single words that describe their blogs. I got some very good response to this little opinion post and some answers were really intriguing, some others were funky while majority of them were pretty straight forward single words that symbolized these individuals’ blog or their brand.

The word that I used to describe D$ was ‘monetize‘ which probably was the least interesting of all  - perhaps I should put more thoughts into it next time around! The following are some of the coolest single word responses that I got. As promised, I am giving link love to not just the top 10 but all of you who responded well. Moreover, picking the top ten all by myself is not an easy job.

Describe your blog in ONE word here!

One word commentToday I have been relatively free as I did not have too many comments to moderate or reply. The main reason for the lower number of comments has been the reduction in traffic for the past two days. I reckoned that the long festive weekend in India was causing the problem, as around 50% of my readers are from India (And the Google Analytics data proved my theory right!)

Since I was in no mood to write a new long post, I thought of putting up this little opinion post. There’s only one rule! You have to describe your blog in exactly one word and post that one word as a comment here. I plan to give link love or back links to top 10 interesting single word comments!

Charity begins at home - 10 click-to-donate sites!

WFPLast Wednesday (15th Oct) was observed as the BlogActionDay by BlogActionDay.org. If you wonder what that means, it is the day of the year where 1000s of bloggers around the world come together and discuss a single issue and try to solve the same. This year’s theme was poverty and a number of bloggers wrote about it, called for action and even donated part of their online income in an effort to eradicate poverty from this world!

I somehow missed this particular day as I did not get the alert mail on time. However, I decided that I am not going to miss it next time as I have, now, subscribed to the newsletter from BlogActionDay.org (You may do the same). In addition, I thought of initiating the following charity drive via this blog which I hope some of you will follow as well.

Open Mic - Talk about you, your family, hobbies, halloween shopping,…

Namaste‘ is one of the most powerful words from the Indian sub-continent!Namaste It is used to greet each other with deep respect and the literal meaning of the word is ‘I bow to you‘. Usually the spoken salutation (and the gesture with both hands as in the picture) is accompanied by a bow of the head and/or body. In Hindu, Buddhist or Jain culture, this gesture is also used while praying god, meditating or doing Yoga.

So, what has ‘Namaste‘ to do here! It has been six months since this blog was launched and several thousands guests visited us in this time frame. However, only a few hundreds of them voiced their opinions here. (Some of them are regulars from Day 1 and we do know them well too). To know majority of the others better, we thought, it is a good idea to dedicate this weekend to greet and know each other thereby improving the interaction levels here.
