DollarShower PageRank Checker

Just like any other online marketer or blogger, I too have been obsessed with Google Pagerank of my domains. Good or bad, Google has been really successful in marketing this PageRank concept and got webmasters slog to keep their domainsโ€™ PR up (and not just ranking positions). In a way, that concept has helped many to cash in their domain authority.

Sometime back, I had kicked off some research projects related to Pagerank & Social ranks of blogs. Due to my career and regular job commitments, these projects were scrapped half way. However, I thought of opening up the completed part of my PageRank checker for public use and here you go.

About my PagerRank Checker

Okay, checking for Google Page rank of any site is no rocket science or anything cool. There may be numerous scripts and services out there that you can consume.

In addition to the page rank query, I have added some check points to see if a particular domain has a FAKE page rank (see the picture below). This algorithm still has some amount of work to do but it works in most cases.

Whatโ€™s next?

I am hopeful of enhancing this to a full-fledged domain/blog appraisal tool, time permitting. Hosting it under an appropriate domain name is also in plan.

In the mean time, please check out the FREE PR Checker tool and let me know your feedback.

A word of caution: I am putting this domain under risk if the tool is over used (i.e. more than the several thousand queries allowed by Google per day) by my readers. If the usage goes beyond the permissible limit, I will be implementing a Captcha feature. Till then, please be ‘gentle’ with it.

And let me know, if someone has great ideas on how to rank a blog in real social/search authority terms so that in my free time I could work on such ideas. In fact, I had asked this question sometime back.

  1. I know there are many versions available online but it impresses me that you have created your own one. ๐Ÿ™‚

The only thing I dislike about checking my PR is that I have over 2 dozen domains so it takes a lot of time, would be cool to find a script that would let me submit multiple domains. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Dean,
In fact, it has the support of submitting 10 URLs to check. I disabled it for now as there’s a very good chance of Google banning my IP if the number of queries increase ๐Ÿ™‚ However, I agree that the tool will be more useful with multiple URL check.

    • Hey Dean,

Am also in the look out for a tool that can check multiple domains, no luck yet. Let me know if you find one, would save an hour of distress every once in a while.

@Ajith, Neat work there. I hope you wouldn’t have to bring in captcha. I hate that on pr checker dot info, the one I used to use so far. Thanks for this ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Forgot to subscribe by email, subscribing in now ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Arun,
There’s an AJAX version being implemented that takes up to 10 URLs and shows the results in one go. I am testing it already though I need to worry about the number of requests going to Google. Trying to implement in a way that doesn’t result in a ban ๐Ÿ™‚

        • Hey Ajith,

Maybe you could get the list of sites, store it in some database and check it one by one, say 4-5 pings in an hour (or whatever max you can), and email the user when its done.

When new users add it, just add it to the queue. Sounds crazy? or good?

        • That’s a good idea. At the moment, I am testing my new pet project (just completed over the weekend) on bulk page rank checking. Could you take a look at It supports up to 25 URLs.

(Email and Export feature yet to be implemented)
