Fiverr.com Review: One could Make Money Online out of it

I stumbled upon this interesting website called Fiverr.com after reading a review on HBB. Initially, I didn’t care to spend much time on it but when I was in need of creating a few low-cost images and sketches, I thought of giving it a try. Voila! It turned to be an instant success story for the amount ($5) that I spent on each small assignment.

fiverr

What exactly is Fiverr?

As the name suggests, it’s all about $5 spending or earning. In other words you can get your gigs (any small task that’s possible to do online) done for five dollars at this site. Needless to say, those things that you are willing to do for $5, can be offered here as well.

As we all know, there are gigs on offer and listed on various forums already. However, this one is strictly maintained for fiver tasks and that’s probably the best part of it. The tasks could be something like designing a logo, getting a tag line for your blog, video marketing material, drawing a sketch, online tuition or whatever you could imagine.

For example, the following are some of the popular gigs on offer right now:

  1. I will help you solve your relationship problem for $5
  2. I will proofread any document up to 5 pages double-spaced for $5
  3. I will write a 30 sec. commercial or testimonial spot for you or your business for $5
  4. I will design a 2-page functional blog with AdSense income for you for $5

Some are too good to be true for the $5 you spend – for example, the customized video testimonials that you can use for Youtube marketing.

My gigs

I tried creating a couple of graphics for myself and the outcome was pretty good. Though, my avatar didn’t exactly look like me, it was acceptable for $5. On the other hand, the picture of myself and my wife – reproduced from a family photo – was very good and rather close to what we are. The artiste was even willing to redo it if we weren’t happy with the first version.

Make money with Fiverr?

Though, it is still a low volume website, there’s enough potential for making money online out of it. For example, somebody with good graphics skills may use it to make $50 or so per day out of it, if operated optimally. However, it all depends on the popularity and rating that you receive from your clients.

Fiverr.com is really easy to use than forums and similar gigs directories. Though, it may be look like just another trend, I think it will stay there for some time.

    Great find mate.

I will try my luck here both spending and earning…

  2. Fiverr is a great idea but they also should offer jobs for other amounts such as 9.99 or so, depending on the time of job.

  3. I have heard about this web site for a while, I never reallypaid much attention to it. Well until recently, I’m looking for some cheap images to be made and think Fiverr might be the place to look. :)

  4. I absolutely love the idea of fivver, the only tricky part is getting noticed if you want to put an ad out there. It is really important to do things that are totally unique and to have a way to prove that you have a relative area of expertise in that gig.

    • @Jimvesting, you have a great point here and I forgot to stress on that. In fact, the same people keeps posting about same gigs over and over in order to get attention on the front page. It’s like competing for the first page listing on digg.

  5. Its a cool share, The second graphic is good. the very first one i think you look like 15 years old. lol

  6. I love fiverr!! Theres a lot of people online who give it a hard time because they expect to get a $200 dollar job done for five bucks! I’ve had voice-overs created, received software, had 10,000 visitors to my site, had youtube views, product reviews written- its a fantastic place to sell your services too, but is tricky to get your ‘gigs’ noticed – theres even gigs to drive more traffic to your fivers gigs, so thats worth a go :-)

  7. Hi there,

Fiverr is really a great marketplace to find people to do something for you for online $5.

I also used fiverr to find people to write me an article for my nice websites and it really paid off. The good thing is that, I haven’t spent a penny from my own pocket since I also accept fiverr gigs in which I also spent my earnings for my other projects.

If there’s some amount left in my account, I withraw it buy new domain for my new niche. Fiverr is really great.

Since I join them, I am already earned more or less $160 which is really nice.

Thanks for sharing this anyway. By the way, don’t you know that you can also get traffic to your blog using fiverr?

It reminds me of a website called Webeserve although this website is for people not really directly related to internet marketing. Looks cool but wow, everything for $5?

  9. Sounds interesting. I’ll try the video mini ads. Look great for $5.

  10. Fiverr is great… I already used it for writing PR texts (which was done very professional!), and also used someones services to submit these. Recommended website, and a nice article!

  11. Linda :

Fiverr is a good place to hire people to undertake your small jobs that are sometimes difficult to get done elsewhere.
I have found that if you are hiring from Fiverr make sure that you read the gig offer carefully and also other peoples reviews. Also be aware that you are only paying $5 for the service – some people expect too much.
I have had some excellent results and some not so good results from them.

  12. I believe I have heard of this site before. The concept is great, because I think a lot of people do not want to spend a great deal of money on small graphic or writing gigs they need completed. Although it would seem to be difficult to make much money as a provider of services, depending on where you live I suppose. Worth checking out.

  13. I think that this is a very good concept. Seems as though it will provide a benefit for both sides.

  14. I love Fiverr so much I started my own blog to highlight the best sellers and best deals. We buy gigs and review the outstanding ones.

  15. I am using fiverr since last 3 months and i earn $160 in this period. I love working on fiverr.

  16. Fiverr.com SUCKSSSS They DELETED without notice all my positive feedback. Not worth it for the $4 they pay me.

  17. Linda :

Fiverr is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE FOR FREELANCERS! It might be a good place for cheapa$$ buyers, or sellers from third world countries trying to pay off the mortgage on their huts, but not for anyone else. Buyers purchase gigs for a measly 5 bucks, then complain about the most ridiculous things. If the seller doesn’t then kiss the buyer’s a$$, negative feedback is immediately threatened. There’s nothing a seller can do at that point, but either bend over for the buyer or take the negative feedback. I completed almost 200 gigs in my less than 2 months on Fiverr (should be called Fourerr) had a 100% rating, but was called names, threatened, harassed, and more by crazy buyers. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this online sewer.
